PANTRY STOCKING

Here is a list of things I always have on hand and watch for deals on. It is by no means an exhaustive list, but you get the idea:

Onions
Garlic
Lemons
Limes
Carrots
Bell peppers
Lettuce
Tomatoes
Potatoes
Apples
Eggs
Cream
Butter (keep it in the freezer, pull out one box at a time)
Buttermilk
Sour cream
Low-sodium chicken broth
Parmesan cheese
Cheddar cheese
Soy sauce
Worcestershire sauce
Ketchup
Mustard (yellow and dijon)
Salsa
Hot sauce
BBQ sauce
Peanut butter
Jam (I use my own homemade freezer jam--easiest thing to make ever)
Frozen veggies (broccoli, peas, corn)
Canned beans (pinto, black, kidney, refried, green)
Canned tomatoes (crushed, diced, paste, sauce, etc.)
Canned fruits (I use my own home-canned peaches, pears, applesauce)
Cream of chicken/mushroom soup
Rice
Cooking oils (I use extra-virgin olive, light olive, peanut, and coconut)
Vinegar (apple cider, white wine, red wine, white, balsamic, rice)
Honey
Pasta in various shapes and sizes
Dried spices (in particular cumin, coriander, chili powder, paprika, cayenne, oregano, thyme, Italian seasoning, cinnamon, chicken and beef bouillon, taco seasoning, nutmeg, rosemary, garlic powder, onion powder, bay leaves, lemon pepper, Lawry's seasoning salt)
Chicken breast (kept frozen)
Ground beef (kept frozen)
Bacon
Baking powder
Baking soda
Corn starch
Cornmeal
All-purpose unbleached flour
Sugar (brown, powdered, and white)
Vanilla
Unsweetened cocoa powder
Unsweetened chocolate baking squares (Baker's chocolate)

Here is a list of a few cuts of meat I like to watch for sales on. I either use them right away or keep them in the freezer for later use:

Whole chicken
Chicken thighs, either bone-in or boneless
Chicken quarters (thigh with drumstick attached)
Pork tenderloin
Pork loin roast
Pork chops
Pork shoulder, either bone-in or boneless (aka Boston Butt)
Beef shoulder, either bone-in or boneless (aka Chuck roast)
Beef top sirloin
Beef flank steak
Fresh-caught salmon
